How to Play Powerball
To Buy a Powerball ticket, please note that some prices can differ, depending on the individual state lottery where you purchase your powerball ticket in.
- Tattersalls has its own detailed price list.
- So does Golden Casket.
- See the Lotterywest price list here.
- The SA Lotteries price list can be viewed here.
- The NSW Lotteries price list is shown here.
You can then either choose your own Powerball lottery numbers or ask the retailer/website for randomly generated ones.
There are three ways to play Powerball:
A standard game is played by choosing five regular numbers from 1 to 45, and a separate Powerball number also from 1 to 45. The lottery company then selects the winning numbers, with the five regular numbers selected from one machine, and the Powerball drawn from a separate machine. If your numbers match the ones selected by the lottery company, you win the game.
You can also play multi-week entries for other days of the week, using the same numbers for several weeks at a time.
There is also a systems entry, which lets you choose more numbers per game to increase your chances of winning.
